Conclusion

And just like that, at the stroke of midnight on September 30, the 2023 Grand Tour was over.

John Frick achieved 1st Place with an incredible 1,254 individual murals, closely followed by Charles Snyder in 2nd Place with 1,012 murals and Kevin Morris in 3rd Place with 819 murals.

The Top 10 results were as follows :--

  • John Frick         1,254
  • Charles Snyder 1,012
  • Kevin Morris            819
  • Rick Miller            643
  • Eric Schneeweis    606
  • Simon Bell            538
  • Lee Blauvelt            433
  • Bill Collins            426
  • Chris Carter            373
  • Steve Porter            245

All up, 9,257 mural photos were accepted by the Rally Master, and out of the 67 riders who signed up for the Grand Tour, 42 achieved Finisher status, a 63% completion rate.

This in itself, is a very respectful achievement, considering only 20 or so riders finished in 2018, 2019, 2020/21 and 2022.

A special " Thank You " must go to our Rally Master, for facilitating this event.  Without his time and effort, we would not have a Grand Tour.

An announcement regarding a 2024 GLMC Grand Tour has not yet been made, and as my participation as an "International" depends on the rally's theme and format, my future plans are on hold for now.

Hopefully, all the stars will align and I will be able to join the fun again next year.

Until then, " keep the rubber side down, the shiny side up, and may your lid never skid ".
